Virat Kohli, India’s former Test team skipper arrived in Perth and was seen practicing at the WACA. The first marked intense training in Australia as the Border-Gavaskar Trophy beckons. India took added precautions for the solitary net practice on Tuesday not to breach the privacy in it while their team management dismissed claims of doing so deliberately. The West Australian reported the practice area shrouded under black covers to hide it from public view. Restrictions even applied to cricket staff, with limited capacity to film anything inside the ground.

The 36-year-old, though not the brightest light in an otherwise disappointing batting show back home lately, seemed very much in command against the rising deliveries, though he did take a couple of the leg-side deliveries to his glove-side. After that, he went to the spin nets, continuing preparation for the testing series ahead.
