Pakistan batter Asif Ali has announced his retirement from international cricket. He played as a middle-order batter and in his career he has played 21 ODIs and 58 T20Is. Known for his aggressive approach, he is widely known for his 25 runs off 7 balls as he helped Pakistan win against Afghanistan in 2021 T20 World Cup.

"Wearing the Pakistan jersey has been the greatest honour of my life and serving my country on the cricket field has been my proudest chapter," he said in a social media post.

"I retire with immense gratitude, and will continue to share my passion for the game by playing domestic and league cricket worldwide," Asif said.

Asif has confirmed that he will continue to play domestic cricket and franchise leagues around the world. In 2018, Asif made his T20I debut against West Indies which was followed by an ODI debut two months later.
