Known for his aggressive approach, he is widely known for his 25 runs off 7 balls as he helped Pakistan win against Afghanistan in 2021 T20 World Cup.

“Wearing the Pakistan jersey has been the greatest honour of my life and serving my country on the cricket field has been my proudest chapter,” he said in a social media post.

Asif has confirmed that he will continue to play domestic cricket and franchise leagues around the world. In 2018, Asif made his T20I debut against West Indies which was followed by an ODI debut two months later.
