India squad for Asia Cup 2023: The BCCI on Monday announced the squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, which is scheduled to be held jointly in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from August 30 to September 17.
All the speculations around the fitness situations of players KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer have been waved off after both of them have been included in the squad. Tilak Verma, who had a brilliant IPL session, made it into the player’s list. Verma had a good series in the West Indies as well.

T-20 format captain Hardik Pandya will be vice-captain. The return of spearhead Jaspreet Bumrah will give solid bowling strength to the team.
Strong Middle order
The selectors have given strong middle-order options to Captain Rohit Sharma, which include Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and KL Rahul. In lower order Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja or Axar Patel, and Shardul Thakur will be helping India, if adverse condition arises.
3 all-rounders included in Team
In order to give a balanced team, Indian selectors have included 3 all-rounders (Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, and Axar Patel) in the squad. While Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel will be a crucial asset in favorable spin conditions, especially in the Indian subcontinent.
