Early Struggles Of Rauf And Brilliant Comeback

It was no easy beginning to Rauf’s over as he conceded nine runs in the first over. Josh Inglis was also caught down the leg side in the very next over. In the next over, he got rid of Marnus Labuschagne too, who edged behind to wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan. It was Rauf’s turnaround that set the tone for the rest of the innings.

Haris Rauf Thrashes Australia’s Middle Order

Rauf kept pounding in, coming back in the 26th over to send Aaron Hardie’s edge rattling down to Rizwan’s gloves. The pace man didn’t let up from there, sending Glenn Maxwell walking this time chopping the ball onto his stumps as he tried to pull.

Pakistan’s Pace Attack Leaves Australia Reeling

Rauf sealed his five-wicket haul when he dismissed the Australian skipper, Pat Cummins, who went behind to a bouncer. The Australians were tottering at 146 for nine when support came from Shaheen Afridi who had opened the attack, claiming openers Matthew Short and Jake Fraser-McGurk, caught for 19 and 13 respectively.

Bowlers Dominant As Pakistan Bowl Australia For 163

Rauf’s aggression combined with Afridi, Naseem Shah going for 1/57 and Mohammad Hasnain 1/27 proved to be crucial as they dismantled Australia. Hasnain picked the crucial wicket of Steve Smith (35) as Pakistan bowlers leave the hosts with no answers at all.
