India marched to yet another comprehensive win over Pakistan, chasing down a modest 128 with 7 wickets in hand in the Asia Cup 2025 clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The much-anticipated encounter ended not with a bang, but with a sense of inevitability.
From the very beginning, there was an edge in the air. The players walked off at the end without any post-match handshakes – a rare but telling gesture that summed up the mood. But once the cricket began, it was all India.
Kuldeep Yadav was player of the match as he took three crucial wickets and solidified India’s position in the game. After the match he reflected on his mindset and the way he did execution in his bowling.
Simple. Just execute the plans. Just see who is batting and react accordingly. I had my plans and executed them. First ball is always wicket-taking ball, just have to go with that mindset and execute that wicket-taking ball. Batter maybe set but he’s facing me for the first time. Still feel I really need to work on my bowling. Sometimes I feel I use too many variations.
After the match, Suryakumar Yadav expressed his feeling after winning and dedicated it to the victims of Pahalgam attack.
“Its a great feeling to win and the win is a perfect return gift from him to India on his birthday. He talks about the winning six, he says it’s a box he wanted to tick, to stay there till the end. He says playing Pakistan is just another game, they come to the ground and prepare the same as any other opposition. He says India won the champions trophy with a lot of spinners and that was where it started. He also adds he is a big fan of spinners and likes picking them. Finally just as the presentation ends, without being prompted, he says “we stand with the victims of the families of the Pahalgam terror attack and we express our solidarity and we want to dedicate today’s win to the armed forces”
