The Asia Cup 2025 is all set to start from September 9 following which both India and Pakistan are ready to play against each other on Sunday, September 14. The two nations are in Group A together with the UAE and Oman. If they follow form, a second confrontation is imminent on Sunday, September 21, in the Super Four phase. There’s a chance of a third India-Pakistan clash in the tournament final if both teams advance, potentially giving fans three encounters in under three weeks. Remarkably, despite their storied rivalry, the two nations have never faced each other in the final of this continental event.
India & Pakistan In Group A
India will play their first match on September 10, with all their matches to be played in UAE, Dubai. Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. The tournament will consist of 19 matches in two venues: Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with each team being allowed to have a 17-member squad.

All The Matches To Be Held In UAE
While the BCCI is named the official host, the tournament is being held in the UAE. This was decided during a meeting by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on July 24, with all the representatives. The venue change is due to a mutual understanding between India and Pakistan to play only at neutral venues until at least 2027, given the persistent political tensions.
India To Play Against Pakistan On September 14
According to PTI, in order to deliver maximum viewership, ACC under its present agreement with broadcasters fixes India and Pakistan in the same group to guarantee at least two matches between them. The format of the tournament also makes it possible that one can expect a high-voltage final, if both teams make it through the knockout phases.
