“We feel as though the simulation in the nets has got him skill ready. His body’s ready to go. Barring anything else happening in the next week, I’d be expecting Pat to be tossing the coin and putting the blazer on.”

One big setback for Australia is that Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the remaining series due to Achilles and hamstring injuries. Michael Neser is also in the squad and he played in place of Australia's premier spinner Nathan Lyon. But there is a possiblity that Neser might not feature in Adelaide Test since Cummins and Lyon will be returning in the squad.
