He has gained a lot of backlash after the comments he made about his former team Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Now Rayudu has replied back to his haters and mentioned that he will always be a 'Thala Fan'.

Rayudu started his IPL career playing for Mumbai Indians and played eight seasons there but he has always been a passionate supporter of Chennai Super Kings where he played for six seasons and retired after winning the IPL title in 2023. In IPL 2025, Rayudu has been a part of the commentary panel and has always backed CSK despite team's evident struggle. His unwavering support to MS Dhoni did not go well with many social media users and he received a lot of trolls and hate. Rayudu took to X (formerly known as Twitter), where he fired back at his critics.
