Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is currently the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The latter has picked up 30 wickets from four games at an average of under 13 and will be looking to repeat the same performance in the final match of the series set to begin from January 3 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. However, the Indian team is currently trailing in the five-match series by 2-1 and hasn’t received any assistance from the other Indian bowlers. The Indian pace spearhead has been only putting pressure from his end which has troubled the Australian batters.
Jasprit Bumrah Becomes Captain Of Cricket Australia’s Test Team Of 2024
Due to his stellar performance, Jasprit Bumrah has been rewarded by cricket.com.au and is named the skipper of the Test Team Of 2024. Bumrah has picked up 71 wickets from 13 matches at an average of 14.92 with five fifers to his name. Bumrah became the fastest Indian pacer to pick 200 wickets in Tests and achieved the milestone during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The latter also achieved his highest Test rankings of 904 rating points and became only the second Indian bowler to achieve the feat after Ravichandran Ashwin.

Jasprit Bumrah has been brilliant with his performance ever since he has returned from his back injury. Bumrah has been used carefully by the BCCI and is expected to get rested from the ODI series against England just ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
