All About Their Love Story
Vinesh Phogat and Somvir Rathee, both accomplished wrestlers share a remarkable love story. Both first crossed paths while working in the Indian Railways. It was their love for wrestling that brought the two close to each other. Somvir proposed her outside the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi after she returned back to India.
The couple got engaged soon after in August 2018, and married each other in an intimate ceremony in December. They tied the knot in Vinesh’s hometown in Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri. According to reports, the couple took 8 pheras, instead of the traditional seven pheras and asked their family members to give Rs 1 as shagun. The eight vows included a powerful message of “beti bachao, beti padhao, beti khelao”. After 6 years of happy and successful marriage, they are ready to welcome their first child.
