Complete Whitewash!, Bangladesh Tigers Down Rusty Pakistan For A Clean Sweep Victory

This is Bangladesh's overall 8th overseas Test victory.

Cricket is a game of opportunities, once you clinch that opportunity, then there is no look back!, this is what Bangladesh achieved against Pakistan at Rawalpindi. The Bangladesh Tigers rattled the ‘Restless Host’ Pakistan for a clean sweep victory and created history.

Before this series, nobody gave Bangladesh a chance against a team with the likes of Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah. But the Tigers took on the challenge and roared over the host and whitewashed Pakistan by 2-0.

In the second Test at Rawalpindi, bowling first, Bangladesh bowled out Pakistan for 274 in the first innings, thanks to Mehidy Hasan Miraz’ 5/61.

When the batting came, Bangladesh batters were rattled down for 26/6, but the wicket-keeper batter Litton Das (138 runs) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz ( 78 runs) had some other ideas and combined a solid partnership to save Bangladesh.

In the second innings, Bangladesh pacers, Nahid Rana and Hasan Mahmud unleashed their pace and restrict Pakistan to 172 runs. In reply, Bangladeshi openers started off positively and attacked the ‘Rusty’ Pakistani bowlers.

The tides were changed when a couple of wickets were down. but thanks to the experienced Shakib Al Hasan and Rahim notched a partnership and took their side to a historic series victory by 6 wickets. The superstar wicket-keeper Litton Das was adjudged ‘Man of the Match’ for his excellent 138 runs off 228 balls, which included 13 fours and 4 sixes.

8th Overseas Test Victory For Bangladesh

This is Bangladesh’s overall 8th overseas Test victory – 2-West Indies, Zimbabwe, & Pakistan one one each in Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

From Pakistan’s perspective, they have gone now 10 Tests at home without a win (Six defeats & 4 draws).
