Birmingham: Commonwealth Games 2022 has started in the Birmingham with around 5000 athletes participating in more than 300 events. India has also sent its 215-members contingent to the foreign land and here is the entire schedule of Indian players on Day 1.
In the opening ceremony of the tournament, PV Sindhu and Mandpreet Singh led the Indian contingent by holding the flag high. The ace shuttler and hockey team captain became the co-flag bearers at Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
Earlier, Javelin Throw star Neeraj Chopra was supposed to shoulder the responsibility but he pulled out of his maiden Commonwealth Games due to injury.
