WWE fans are excited to see their favorite wrestler, CM Punk, in Hollywood limelight, as according to reports, CM Punk had another big movie role, in which he will act along with the Supernatural star Jared Padalecki. Recently, a number of WWE superstars have been involved in more mainstream projects.
Liv Morgan’s got a part in Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo, and Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes were both cast in the live-action Street Fighter movie, with the latter also providing his voice for a character in Zootopia 2 next to CM Punk. So, it seems like The Best in the World is about to make his way back to the movie set.
CM Punk reportedly joins cast of Netflix’s upcoming romantic comedy
According to a recent report by Deadline, CM Punk is said to have been cast in a Netflix romantic comedy that would be based on Katherine Center’s 2022 book, The Bodyguard. The movie would feature Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki and Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester as the main attraction. The story revolves around a no-nonsense bodyguard who has to guard an action star during Christmas time, thus leading to the development of feelings and the revealing of secrets, which makes the Holidays a bit more complicated.
Notably, though, it was said that certain aspects regarding the film’s story and its adherence to the book are still kept covert. When a question was posed about the report, Netflix opted not to answer any questions.

CM Punk expands acting career with new role
The World Heavyweight Champion, as stated earlier, was the main character together with The Head of the Table in the animation Zooptopia 2, for which they both voiced and were zebra cops. Nevertheless, it is not only the role of a cop that he will play in a movie this year.
It was announced earlier that the WWE star had been cast in Night Patrol, a 2025 horror-thriller film that revolves around a cop in Los Angeles discovering the existence of a vampire task force in the police department. According to the trailer, CM Punk will portray a vampire cop who gives a clue about the presence of other supernatural beings.
Star-Studded cast adds buzz to the upcoming Horror-Thriller
The movie has already been shown at the Fantastic Fest on September 19, 2025, and it will be released in the United States in January 2026. Besides, Jermaine Fowler, Justin Long, and more are other names associated with the movie.
