Speculation Mounts as Jericho Nears AEW Contract End
Rumor has it that Jericho’s contract with AEW is going to end by the end of 2025, which, in theory, opens up the possibility for a grand comeback at the 2026 Royal Rumble. A recent update surrounding the case surfaced that WWE was willing to sign Chris Jericho on a retirement gimmick. It has been said before that a number of people in the company think he will be back in the ring very early in 2026, but that’s not the universal opinion.
Veteran Superstar Hints at Major 2026 In-Ring Return
Jericho is the one who made the first major update on his future during a new interview on the Tim Weisberg Show, and he confirmed that he will be back in the ring in 2026. The veteran was asked if he would kick off his wrestling career again, and he strongly replied that he is not finished yet.
“Well, you never know, man. That’s the thing is – I’m not done yet. So, still figuring out everything and we’ll see where I end up. But I’m pretty sure you’ll see me in 2026 in a wrestling ring somewhere.”
