The 2025 edition of the Champions Trophy is going to start from February 19. This will be the ninth edition of the tournament, which will be played in Pakistan and UAE. The International Cricket Council (ICC) released an advertisement for this mega event on January 14, in which former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram was shown launching the white blazer of the tournament. This blazer will be worn by the players of the winning team, which will have the name ‘ICC Champions Trophy’ and ‘Pakistan’ printed on it.
Every member of the winning team of the competition is given a white blazer at the Champions Trophy award ceremony. According to the Global Administrative Board, these white jackets are a symbol of pride, which reflects the commitment and greatness of the players.

What did ICC say?
A statement issued by the ICC said, “Every match is important in ICC’s biggest and most challenging tournament, where teams compete not only for the Champions Trophy but also for the white blazer, which is a symbol of greatness and commitment. The white blazer is a symbol of pride worn by champions. This jacket reflects the relentless pursuit of strategic greatness and a legacy that inspires generations. Winning the white blazer symbolizes that the player has put everything at stake for victory.”
When did it first appeared?
The first edition of the Champions Trophy tournament was held in 1998, but the white blazer first appeared in the 2009 edition. This edition was won by Australia in South Africa. Since then it has become a part of every edition. Pakistan will enter this tournament as the defending champion. In 2017, it won the Champions Trophy by defeating India.
