Hasan Ali: Pakistan’s fast bowler Hasan Ali has agreed to return to Warwickshire for the 2025 season, where he will play all formats for the club. He is expected to be available from the start of the T20 Blast in May until the end of September.
Hasan played for the first time in nearly three months at 30. He has not played since getting an elbow injury during his stint at Edgbaston last season. The injury forced him out after he took 10 wickets in five Vitality Blast appearances. He underwent surgery and has been rehabbing under the watchful eye of both Warwickshire’s and Pakistan’s medical staff.
“I said last year that Edgbaston was almost like a second home to me, but it’s becoming more like a first home now,” he said. “I love playing for Warwickshire and the Bears fans. I hope they see how much I want to win for this club through my performances.”

He added, “Getting my White Bear Cap in 2023 was one of the proudest moments of my career, and I want to make many more special memories with the Bears next season. Last year was unlucky because of the injury. I felt I was bowling well and taking plenty of wickets in the Blast, but now I’m back bowling 100 percent in training and focused on joining Warwickshire next season.”
Has taken 27 wickets in nine County Championship appearances for Warwickshire over the 2023 and 2024 seasons, with 19 in the Blast.
His availability was limited last summer after a surprise late recall to Pakistan’s squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup, but Warwickshire’s head coach, Mark Robinson, confirmed that they had been in contact with the PCB to secure Hasan for an uninterrupted spell. The bowler is no longer centrally contracted by the PCB.
Robinson said, “Hasan’s call-up last May came well out of the blue and snatched him away from the beginning of our County Championship season. However, we have been reassured by the PCB that he will be able to fully focus on the Bears this year which is great news of course all subject to Hasan continuing to make good progress with his post-op rehab and arriving fully fit.”
He added, “Hasan is a heart-on-the-sleeve performer who always gives his all. He’s a proven wicket-taker at the highest level and was performing brilliantly with us last season before the injury. He brings great energy to the team, both on the field and in the dressing room, inspiring everyone around him with his enthusiasm. I’m looking forward to welcoming him back into the Bears fold.”
