PSG easily defeated Inter Milan 5-0 in a one-sided final of the UEFA Champions League. In the 12th minute, Achraf Hakimi scored for France, followed a short time later by Désiré Doué’s goal in the 20th minute, giving France a 2–0 lead. Inter Milan found it hard to play out of their half and PSG kept putting on the pressure in the second part of the game. Four minutes before the end of the game, Marseille scored again: Doué got his second, Kvaratskhelia added a fourth and Mayulu also scored to make it five. PSG played brilliantly, scoring all of the goals, defending sturdily and having Gianluigi Donnarumma display great skills in goal.
Inter Milan’s Costly Errors And Inefficiency
Mistakes in defence and a lack of discipline caused Inter Milan’s failure to turn the game around. Many of the yellow cards were given to Thuram, Acerbi and Zalewski and the team had problems with offsides and handballs. Some shots taken by Barella, Zalewski and Thuram were saved effortlessly by the goalkeeper. PSG’s speed and sharpness often exploited their defence, mainly during the fast breaks and their changes on the field never affected the match.

Missed Opportunities And What Could Have Been Done
Inter Milan needed to think more clearly and stay calmer in the pressure situations if they wanted to win the final. A number of chances were wasted either with poor finishes or offside calls. PSG was able to play the lead because Inter Milan did not possess the freshest tactics in the first half. If the defence worked together better, much of the PSG wingers’ efforts and fouls could have been avoided. Better organisation in midfield and better passing play could have given Inter more opportunities to make Donnarumma work.
