“In Sri Lanka, on September 5 at 1:30 pm, India’s squad for the upcoming world cup will be announced,” ANI quoted BCCI as saying.
Team India is presently competing in the Asia Cup, and while the squad for this tournament is expected to remain relatively unchanged, it serves as an important test for players ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
Outstanding performances in the Asia Cup could secure a spot in the Indian team for these players. Currently, Ishaan Kishan is in excellent form, while KL Rahul’s fitness assessment will play a crucial role in his inclusion. Both Kishan and Rahul face a significant challenge, as their performances and fitness will determine their selection for the Indian team.

“Along with Samson, it will be difficult to make a place for the famous Krishna and young batsman Tilak Verma. He has not been given a place in both the Asia Cup matches so far. Along with star batsmen Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav, BCCI can also give place to Ishaan Kishan who have performed a crucial inning in the high profile India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 match,” reports claimed.
