New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has provided medical and fitness updates on Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, KL Rahul, Shreya and Rishabh Pant. The five players are currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
Bumrah recovering well at NCA
The ace pacer has not played for 10 months after suffering a back injury and has missed several major tournaments, including the 2022 Asia Cup, the 2022 T20 World Cup, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the final of the World Test Championship. Prasidh, regarded as one of India’s potential white-ball specialists, last played against Zimbabwe in an ODI in Harare in August 2022 and has been out since then with a stress fracture.

“Mr Jasprit Bumrah and Mr Prasidh Krishna: The two fast bowlers are in the final stages of rehabilitation and are playing full strength in the nets. The duo are now playing practice games organized by the NCA. The BCCI medical team is satisfied with their progress and will take a final decision after evaluating them after the practice matches,” the BCCI said.

KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer also recovering
Rahul injured himself in the 2023 IPL and was ruled out of the tournament due to hamstring surgery. Meanwhile, Iyer, who last played for India at the Border Gavaskar Trophy in 2023 and has been sidelined since. He also injured his back and is currently in rehab with the NCA.
With less than 100 days left until the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup, the two are working hard to make a comeback in the NCA. “KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, they started hitting the net again and are now doing strength and fitness training. The BCCI medical team is pleased with their progress and will continue strengthening in both skill, strength and conditioning over the next few days,” the board said in a statement.
Rishabh Pant’s injury update
Meanwhile, Pant, who is recovering due to injury surgery caused by a car collision on a road that was divided on a highway connecting Delhi and Dehradun last year. BCCI provided positive latest information on the batter’s batter. “Rishabh Pant: He has made a significant progress with rehabilitation and can now hit the net and hold the net.
