Gill has sustained a thumb injury at a practice session before the first Test in Perth. He was advised a 10-14 days rest by the medical team after the injury and had to sit for the Perth Test. But now after speculations regarding his appearance in the warm up match in Canberra has raised serious concerns about his recovery and coming into view for the much awaited second test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Gill was advised a 10-14 day rest by the medical specialist after suffering that injury. He won’t play in the practice match on the weekend, and is doubtful at the moment for the second Test too.
