The English team seems to be in trouble once again as speedster Brydon Carse is set to ruled out for the Champions Trophy match against Afghanistan which is set take place on 26 February, Wednesday at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore due to a recurring blister on his left foot. He will be replaced by Jamie Overton for the following match. This will be a do or die match for both Afghanistan and England.

Australia with the highest score in Champions Trophy
England suffered a thrashing defeat against Afghanistan in the opening match even after getting the highest score of the Champions Trophy. England scored 351 runs in the first innings with Ben Duckett’s 165 runs innings. In reply, Australia managed to make 356 runs with Josh Inglis’ monstrous 120* in just 86 deliveries. Brydon Carse contributed with the ball by bowling 7 overs and sparring 69 runs. He got a crucial breakthrough when he dismissed Alex Carrey on 69 runs. But this breakthrough could not make England make a comeback in the match.
Resurfaced injury
Brydon Carse had earlier missed two matches against India as well during the tour last month because of blister on his left toe which neede serious mediucal attention. He got stitches which were removed just last week. It felt that the pacer had to struggle with some pain against the Australia clash hence proving to be expensive.

IPL appearance in doubt?
Jamie Overton is likely to get a chance because there are no traveling reserves. This resurfaced injury has set his IPL appearance in jeopardy as well. He was acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad for 1 cr in the IPL mega auction. England set a new record at the Champions Trophy for the highest score which Australia breached with sparring 15 balls. Afghanistan also suffered a heavy defeat in their first match against South Africa by 107 runs in Karachi.
