New Delhi: Former India footballer Bhaichung Bhutia has filed the nomination for the presidential post of All India Football Federation.
“I have filed my nominations as representative of eminent players. In the wake of the SC decision to allow players I hope the players can have a chance to serve Indian football. We want to show we can be good not only as players but also as administrators,” said Bhutia after filing the nominations.

Kalyan Chaubey – Former India player, also a member of governing BJP party
Shaji Prabhakaran – President of Football Delhi
Ajit Banerjee – Brother of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee

When are the elections?
The AIFF elections will be held on August 28 in New Delhi.
Bhutia is the most celebrated Indian footballer and also called as “Sikkimese Sniper.” His goal scoring skills made him one of the great footballer. The 45-year-old took retirement from his football career after 2011 Asia Cup in Qatar.
