New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) denied the claim by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), that Jay Shah, who also serve as the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), will not be making any visit to the neighbouring country during the Asia Cup 2023.
Jay Shah to not visit Pakistan
“I have not agreed to anything. This is just plain miscommunication. Probably done deliberately or mischievously. I’ll not be making any visit,” Jay Shah was quoted by News18 CricketNext.
Asia Cup to take place in hybrid mode
While Jay strong condemned the report of his visit and said the ‘hybrid arrangement’ of the Asia Cup tournament will stay, where Pakistan will host four games and Sri Lanka will host nine games including all the knock-out games.
Arun Singh Dhumal, CEC representative of BCCI at ICC, has also denied that Shah or anyone from the BCCI will be travelling to Pakistan at all. “Whatever the reports, they’re completely false,” Dhumal told News18 website.

Jay Shah and PCB’s chairman Zaka Ashraf met during the meeting in Durban, South Africa, ahead of the International Cricket Council meeting. The meeting between both the chairperson held amid doubts about Pakistan visiting India for the World Cup, which is set to be staged from October 5 to November 19.
