New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Friday invited applications for the position of National Selectors (Senior Men).

As per the information, 5 posts are kept for National Selector (Senior Men). For this the board has told the candidates that whoever wants to apply for the said post must fulfill the following criteria for their application:

“To be eligible for the 5 positions of National Selector (Senior Men), a candidate must have played at least 7 Test matches or 30 First Class matches or 10 ODIs and 20 First Class matches. Along with this, he should have retired from the game at least 5 years ago.”

Can submit applications till 28 November

Along with this, the BCCI has said that any person who has been a member of any cricket committee (as defined in the BCCI rules and regulations) for a total of 5 years shall not be eligible to become a member of the selection committee. BCCI has asked to submit the application by 6 pm on November 28, 2022.

Currently, the selectors of the Indian cricket team include Chetan Sharma (North zone), Harvinder Singh (Centra Zone), Sunil Joshi (South Zone) and Debasish Mohanty (East Zone).

The decision has been taken after the return of top Indian cricket officials from Australia who recently went to Melbourne for the T20 World Cup.

It is noteworthy that the Indian team had to face a crushing defeat by England in the semi-finals. Since then, speculations were being made about this decision.
