BCCI Central Contract 2025: Last year, the BCCI created a stir in the cricketing community when they came out with their list of players for central contracts for the 2023-24 season. Two prominent names missing from the list were Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan, based on the reason that both players had skipped domestic games even after being instructed by the board.

Since then, Iyer has established himself in India's ODI side, and Kishan has made an impression with a remarkable century on his Sunrisers Hyderabad debut.

As per a Hindustan Times report, both Iyer and Kishan are likely to be included in the BCCI central contracts for the 2024-25 season. Shrews Iyer will most likely be graded Grade B, with him earning Rs 3 crore per year. The report also points out that Iyer had been India's leading run-getter in India's successful Champions Trophy 2025 campaign.

A BCCI source stated that Iyer's return to action in the domestic season and, in turn, his return to form were very important for him to excel in the Champions Trophy.

Mohammed Shami Likely To Be Excluded

Conversely, Mohammed Shami might lose a BCCI central contract because of his prolonged injury layoff in 2024. He made a comeback in 2025 in the T20I series against England. Though retired from T20Is following India's victory in T20 World Cup 2024, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are likely to hold on to their A+ contracts and hence earn Rs 7 crore per annum. Ravindra Jadeja, as was the case with Rohit and Virat, is also likely to resume his central contract despite his T20I retirement.
