The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will soon reveal the central contracts for the men’s team during the upcoming days. The BCCI plans to publish its central contract list during the following one or two days. Multiple changes involving Team India captain Rohit Sharma along with Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah, started surfacing before the central contract announcement by ‘Board of Control for Cricket in India’. The four cricketers maintain positions in the A+ grade central contracts written by the BCCI. The T20 World Cup 2024 victory enabled Kohli, Rohit, and Jadeja to reveal their choice to stop playing T20 International cricket. According to reports, the Board will not alter the A+ grade contracts featured in the new players’ contract list.
A trusted official from BCCI notes that the board stands close to completing its new general player contracts for all categories. A public release of the list is approaching. The source clarified that A+ category players will remain unchanged at present since future additions may create potential changes in this pool.
The new central contracts will be settled after England tour completion
Players believe the Indian team will start their World Test Championship 2025–27 campaign by playing five Test matches against England beginning June 20 after finishing IPL 2025. Professional player performances during the upcoming England tour will shape the final central contracts to be decided after this period.

The central contract pool will probably get restored to Shreyas Iyer soon
Professional reports indicate that middle-batting specialist Shreyas Iyer might return to the central contracts roster. Iyer secured the title of top-run scorer for India during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 while maintaining exceptional form in domestic competitions. Before this change Iyer together with wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan received their central contract removal because they missed domestic cricket opportunities.
