Barca after a quiet winter transfer window are expected to make big signings for Hansi Flick in the summer. One of the areas they are focusing is the right back position where Jules Koundé is the first choice. But his backup Héctor Fort has not been impressive and the club is looking for alternatives. According to Fichajes, Barca have identified three options to strengthen this area before the new season. With defensive solidity being a priority the club will be looking at these three signings to reinforce and add depth in the position.
Barca Considering Yan Couto As A Right-Back Option
Barca is considering Manchester City’s Yan Couto to strengthen their right back as one of the options. He was linked to the club last summer but the deal didn’t happen. He’s on loan at Dortmund where he’s not playing regularly. This might be the chance for Barca to get him soon. Although he’s contract with Man City, he’s available and a good option for the club in the next transfer window. His attacking skills, technical ability and adaptability will be a big plus for the team and will create competition in the backline.
Barca Target Vanderson To Bolster Right-Back Position
Barca are looking at Vanderson, the Brazilian full back who plays for AS Monaco in Ligue 1. He’s a player Deco likes and thinks he fits the team’s style. His attack and adaptability to the team’s play makes him a good option for right back. He’s fast, technical and attacks a lot. He’s a strong candidate to reinforce the backline. But the price Monaco will ask for him could be high. Despite the price, Barca see him as a player that can add depth to the team and competition within the squad.

Barca Considering Oscar Mingueza As A Budget-Friendly Right-Back Option
Oscar Mingueza is being considered as an option to reinforce the right-back position. He is in Celta Vigo and has had a great season so he has increased his value in the market. Barca has 50% of his rights so if they decide to bring him back they would only be responsible for half of the price. He may not be the first choice but he would be a good backup for Jules Koundé who is the main one in that position. He knows the Barca style so would fit in easily.
