Babar Azam Equals Virat Kohli’s Unwanted Record After Duck In SA vs PAK 1st T20I

Pakistani cricketer Babar Azam equaled Virat Kohli's unwanted record in T20I cricket after he scored a duck in the SA vs PAK 1st T20I.

Pakistani batter Babar Azam is currently undergoing a tough phase in international where the runs has almost dried up from his bat. Babar was rated among the top five best batters in the world including the likes of Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Steve Smith and Kane Williamson. However, in the present time Babar isn’t even close to achievements of these players and isn’t suitable to hold a place amongst the top batters in the world. The former Pakistani captain often critisised for this slow batting approach and putting pressure back onto team. The right-handed batter got dismissed for a duck during the SA vs PAK 1st T20I match played in Durban.

Babar Azam Registers Unwanted Virat Kohli’s Record To His Name

This was Babar Azam’s seventh duck in T20I cricket and equaled Virat Kohli’s record, who has retired from T20I cricket. Babar slipped to the seventh spot in the ICC Men’s T20I Batter Rankings. In the end, Pakistan ended up losing the SA vs PAK 1st T20I match by a margin of 11 runs and weren’t able to chase down 184 runs. Here is a look at the ICC Men’s T20I Batter Rankings:

Getting into the SA vs PAK 1st T20I match, Pakistani captain Mohammad Rizwan ended up scoring 74 runs from 62 balls which included five fours and three sixes. No other batter other than Rizwan stayed at the crease for long which was a major reason behind Pakistan losing the match. South African all-rounder George Linde picked up four wickets with the ball and helped the Proteas win the match.
