Djokovic’s Injury Concern After Alcaraz Win
Djokovic, who already seemed to suffer discomfort during a quarterfinal bout, was managing an injury at his upper left thigh against Alcaraz, where at one point while behind 4-5, he had taken his first medical time out of the tournament to manage it, although this time having the thigh considerably strapped. Once he took this medication, then Djokovic started to fight from there and ended up triumphing 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4.
Skip Training for Recovery
According to reports, Djokovic did not train yesterday. Yesterday had been arranged to have a training session in the afternoon. However, he spent the entire time with his physiotherapist Miljan Amanovic. His session against Zverev is scheduled for tomorrow, and no one knows if he will be fully recovered in time to take the ground.
Injury Woes at the Australian Open
This is not the first time Djokovic has faced injury issues during the Australian Open. In 2023, he suffered a 3cm tear in his left hamstring and was seen wearing heavy strapping throughout the tournament. Despite the injury, Djokovic powered through and claimed his 10th Australian Open title, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.
Chasing Historic Milestones
Now, Djokovic stands only two victories away from securing an unprecedented 25th Grand Slam title and an 11th Australian Open title, to break his record. Fans are expecting that the world No. 1 will be able to overcome the injury concerns and carry on his history quest in Melbourne.
When Djokovic faces Zverev in the semifinals, all eyes will be on him to see if he can somehow recover just in time to put up a real fight in pursuit of more tennis glory.
