Australia registered a dominating seven-run victory over Pakistan in the third T20I of the three-match series at the Bellerive Oval ground in Hobart. Marcus Stoinis played an unbeaten innings of 61 runs which powered the Aussies to a brilliant win. On the other hand, the bowlers played a major role in Australia’s dominating performance wherein Aaron Hardie picked up three, whereas Spencer Johnson and Adam Zampa ended up with two wickets apiece.
Batting first in Hobart, Pakistan lost an early wicket in the form of Sahibzada Farhan who got dismissed for nine runs. Haseebullah Khan built a decent partnership with Babar Azam for the second wicket but it didn’t stay long as Haseebullah got out for 24 runs. Salman Ali Agha and Usman Khan didn’t last long as well and departed without adding much runs to the scoreboard. At the end, with falling wickets from the other, Babar Azam couldn’t hold for long and got out for 41 runs. Pakistan got wrapped for 117 runs without putting up much competition against Australia.
The Aussies got off to a flyer when Jake-Fraser McGurk smashed Shaheen Shah Afridi for 10 runs in the first over. Matthew Short departed early but McGurk and Josh Inglis tried to stabilise the innings. However, McGurk got out for 18 runs and was followed by Inglis. In the end, Marcus Stoinis started some fireworks played a brilliant 61* run knock. This resulted in Australia’s dominating win over Pakistan and they were able to chase down 118 runs in just 11.2 overs.
