In what was a dominant display by the Australia, the home side went on to register an impressive 360-run win against Pakistan in the 1st Test at Perth on December 17.
Pakistan batting order got decimated by the Kangaroos as they were chasing a challenging target of 450 on Day 4 which eventually saw them getting bowled out for a mere 89.
With a wayward bowling attack on opening day, Pakistan failed to make it count with the bat as well which saw them 195/6 within 76 overs. The away side managed to score 271 runs in the end.
Day 3 saw Usman Khawaja (90) and Mitchell Marsh (63*) take Australia's lead even further and then decided to declare their innings at 233/5, setting up a 450-run target for the visitors.
Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood took 3 scalps each in the 4th innings followed by Nathan Lyon getting 2 wickets to his name as well.
Pakistan will have to go back to the drawing board and come back with a plan in order to get back in the series.
The 2nd Test match will take place at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on 26th December.
