Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin retired from international cricket on December 18, 2024. Ashwin picked up 765 wickets for India in 287 games which included 37 five-wicket hauls followed by eight ten-fers. Ashwin’s sudden retirement from international cricket shocked his fans and his family members. Ravi Ashwin began his international career in the year 2010 and was groomed under the leadership of MS Dhoni. The latter was at his prime under Virat Kohli’s captaincy and played his last days of international cricket while playing under Rohit Sharma.

While Ravichandran Ashwin retired from international cricket, he ended up as the second leading wicket-taker for India in Tests with 537 scalps. Greenstone Lobo, an astrologer majorly known for writing predictions for big news publications made a prediction for Ashwin back in 2011. It mentioned that Ravi Ashwin will turn out to be among the most legendary all-rounders for Indian cricket and will surpass Harbhajan Singh’s tally of 417 Test wickets and will fall short of Anil Kumble’s record of 619 wickets in Tests for India.

Ravichandran Ashwin will be seen playing for the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League 2025 and is expected to play professional cricket as well.
