New Delhi: Pakistan Hockey team arrived in India by way of Attari-Wagah boarder for the forthcoming Asian Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to begin on Thursday.

India and Pakistan are the joined most successful teams of the tournament, that held annually by the Asian Hockey Federation (since 2011). The Asian Champions Trophy featured the continent’s top six teams.

What Pakistan’s coach says
The coach of the Pakistan field hockey team Muhammad Saqlain said, “The team is travelling to Chennai to play in the Asian Champions Trophy and teams from all over Asia will feature in the tournament. We want to strengthen our relationship through sports. ”
“I believe that the sports and film industries will strengthen our relationship with India. The people of both countries have a generous heart and treat their guests well,” he said added.
Pakistan field Hockey Team Captain Muhammad Umar Bhutta said: “The team will compete in the Asian Champions Trophy. The tournament will be held from August 3rd to 12th.”
“Sports are good and help build relationships with others. It should be a lot of sport,” he added.
Pakistan has won the tournament three times. They won their first title in 2012, their second in 2013 and shared the trophy with India in 2018. India won the inaugural tournament in 2011 and shared the title with Pakistan in 2016 and 2018. South Korea won the 2021 tournament.
