New Delhi: Unfortunately, Yuzvendra Chahal did not make it to India’s Asia Cup 2023 squad despite a total of 17 names being selected for the tournament. The leg-spinner has been a staple in the white-ball line-up but will miss out this time as the Men In Blue have opted for just one wrist-spinner in Kuldeep Yadav.
Yuzvendra Chahal performance in ODI format
Chahal’s performances in white-ball cricket have dipped slightly in recent times and the same has been seen in the West Indies. Like Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel, the selectors seemed to go ahead of Chahal.
Fans troll Chahal
Yuzvendra Chahal was trolled by fans on Twitter for not making the cut. Some also criticized the board for not giving Chahal more opportunities in international tournaments.
India announced a full-fledged squad for the Asia Cup 2023. Key players are also set to make their comeback in the squad. KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah found their name in the squad.
India’s wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant is still recovering from the near-fatal accident in December. So, KL Rahul got the call for the Asia Cup as he is fully fit.
