New Delhi: Australia’s skipper Pat Cummins gave his side a perfect start on the day 2 of the 3rd Test of the Ashes series as removed England’s Joe Root. This is the 10th time that pacer dismissed the star batter in the Test format, which is most by any other batter.
Cummins gets Root
Pat Cummins struck for Australia with the second ball of the innings. Tad short of a length outside the off stump. There was no movement on the ball. Root was inside the crease and played away from the body, he got an outside edge flying straight in the hands of David Warner, who was at the first slip.

Poor runs continue for Root
Ben Stokes-led side resumed the second day from their overnight score of 68/3. Joe Root was at the crease alongside his fellow Yorkshire batter Jonny Bairstow. Australia’s skipper, who completed the figures of 2/28 off six overs on Day 1, started the visitors innings on day 2.
Joe Root departed to the pavilion after scoring 19 runs off 45 deliveries, with a couple of boundaries to his name.

Mitchell Marsh’s century and Mark Wood’s five-wicket haul were the highlights of the topsy-turvy to begin with day of 3rd Fiery remains Test.
