Zimbabwe were able to achieve a close victory over Pakistan in the third T20I of the three-match series played at the Queen’s Sports Club ground in Bulawayo. The hosts chased down the target of 133 runs with two wickets to spare in 19.5 overs. While batting first, Zimbabwe showcased a brilliant bowling effort by restricting Pakistan for a score of 132/7. Zimbabwe bowlers including Richard Ngarava, Wellington Masakadza and Blessing Muzarabani bowled an economical spell and didn’t allow the Pakistani batters to score runs. Skipper Salman Ali Agha top scored with an innings of 32 runs from 32 balls and batted with a strike rate of 100. On the other hand, Tayyab Tahir played a quick innings and smashed 21 runs from 14 balls with a strike rate of 150.
Chasing down the target, Zimbabwe started off well and added 40 runs for the first wicket. However, after losing the first wicket, the Zimbabwean team lost wickets at regular intervals of the innings, which allowed the opposition to comeback in the match. However, debutant Tinotenda Maposa hit 12 runs off four balls which proved to be crucial for Zimbabwe to win the match.
