Arrest warrant issued against Nepal cricket captain over rape accusation

An arrest warant has been issued against Nepal Cricket captain Sandeep Lamichhane after the investigation of the police.

New Delhi: An arrest warant has been issued against Nepal Cricket captain Sandeep Lamichhane after the investigation of the police in a rape accusation case. 

A minor girl had accused the cricketer for the rape and investigation began on the basis of the complaint. 

“The district court has issued an arrest warrant for Lamichhane who has been accused of raping a minor,” said the police.

The 17-year-old girl had said that Limachhane had raped her on August 21 before he left for Kenya. She, then, filed a complaint and went through the necessary examination. 

The AIG Rabindra Singh Dhanuk from Kathmandu Valley Post Office confirmed that “A rape complaint has been filed against Sandeep Lamichhane. It’s a minor’s complaint, I will give further details regarding this tomorrow. The victim’s health check-up has also been performed this evening.”
