IPL 2024: Amid the reports of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) key player Shreyas Iyer being unfit to play the few initial matches of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, officials concerned have vehemently denied any jeopardy to his participation in the tournament.
Mumbai team manager Bhushan Patil told Cricbuzz that there is no cause of concern for KKR as Iyer is fine and he is all set to visit Kolkata for the pre-IPL camp in two days.
Moreover, the official website of the Kolkata Knight Riders mentions that the franchise will be led by Iyer. It also states that the star player is fit.

However, the player himself is yet to confirm the status of his fitness.
The sources on Thursday claimed that the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) might suffer a significant blow as captain Shreyas Iyer has suffered a setback with his recurring back injury erupts again during the ongoing Ranji Trophy final. While these reports came in as the IPL 2024 is just seven days away, casting a serious doubt over the participation of the KKR star player in the initial matches.

During the Ranji Trophy final’s second innings, Shreyas Iyers back injury emerges again following which he has to seek treatment from the physiotherapist while playing for the Mumbai. Sources also indicated that KKR’s captain underwent a back scan at a hospital.
Notably, Shreyas Iyer also missed the entire day four due to the discomfort because of the back pain.
