Pacer Prasidh Krishna sustained a left quadriceps injury during Karnataka’s Ranji Trophy match against Gujarat, raising doubts about his inclusion in upcoming events, including the home Test series against England. Prasidh had to leave the field after bowling 14.5 overs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad during the Group C match. Despite taking the wickets of Manan Hingrajia and Siddharth Desai, Karnataka managed to dismiss Gujarat for 264 runs in 88 overs on the first day.

As per available information, while awaiting the results of his MRI scans, Prasidh is likely to miss the ongoing match against Gujarat. The determination of his availability for the upcoming five-match home Test series against England, scheduled for later this month, remains uncertain. Typically, quadriceps injuries require four to six weeks for recovery based on their severity.
The 27-year-old is presently receiving medical attention from the physiotherapist of the Karnataka team. However, being a contracted player with the BCCI, he has the option to connect with the support staff of India ‘A,’ who are also present in Ahmedabad for the two-day match against the touring England Lions.
Prasidh had recently debuted in Test cricket during India’s tour of South Africa, marking his return to action after nearly a year’s absence due to a lumbar stress fracture.
