After Smriti Mandhana’s father’s health scare, fiance Palash Muchhal also hospitalised; Wedding postponed

Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana has postponed her wedding after her father was hospitalised with chest pain and fiancé Palash Muchhal also fell ill with a viral infection. Pre-wedding celebrations stopped immediately, and no new wedding date has been announced. Scroll down to know all about it.

What was supposed to be a joyful week for Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana has unexpectedly turned into a stressful one. The opener, who was preparing to marry music composer Palash Muchhal in Sangli, Maharashtra, has postponed her wedding indefinitely after two sudden health scares in the family. Both her father and her fiance had to be taken to the hospital within just two days, leading the families to pause all celebrations.

Father Hospitalised With Chest Pain

The first emergency occurred when Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, complained of chest pain during breakfast. His symptoms were similar to those seen before a heart-related episode, which worried the family. He was immediately taken to a hospital where doctors kept him under observation and conducted several tests. These tests showed elevated cardiac markers, signalling that his condition required careful monitoring.

Doctors advised continued medical care, and even though his condition later stabilised, Smriti made it clear that she would not continue with the wedding until her father was fully healthy. This led to the decision to stop all ongoing wedding functions.

Fiance Palash Muchhal Also Taken to Hospital

Just as the family was dealing with this situation, another medical incident occurred. Groom-to-be Palash Muchhal reportedly felt unwell and was rushed to a private hospital late on Monday. According to reports, he had developed a viral infection along with severe acidity. His condition was not considered serious, and after receiving treatment, he was discharged and returned to his hotel.

However, those close to the couple believe the emotional and physical stress surrounding the wedding preparations and the earlier health scare may have contributed to his condition.

Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, confirmed the decision to postpone the ceremony. He said, “Smriti is very close to her father. She has decided to postpone the marriage till he is completely fine.”

Grand Pre-Wedding Celebrations Come to a Sudden Stop

Over the last few days, social media had been filled with glimpses from Smriti and Palash’s pre-wedding festivities. From colourful Mehendi and Haldi ceremonies to musical Sangeet performances, everything looked picture-perfect and full of joy. But the celebrations came to an abrupt halt once the medical emergencies began.

Family members, friends, and guests who were already in Sangli were informed that the wedding had been put on hold.

No New Wedding Date Announced Yet

With two unexpected hospital visits happening back-to-back, both families have chosen to prioritise health over celebrations. As of now, no new date has been announced for the wedding. The focus remains on ensuring Smriti’s father fully recovers and Palash regains his health.

For now, Smriti Mandhana has stepped away from the celebration mode and is standing firmly by her family during this tough moment. Fans and well-wishers across India have been sending messages of support, hoping for a quick recovery for both her father and her fiance.
