Abhishek played an innings 106* runs from 29 balls which included eight fours and 11 sixes. Abhishek matched, Gujarat batter Urvil Patel’s record who just achieved the milestone earlier in the present edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Batting first, Meghalaya were restricted for a score of 142/7 wherein wicket-keeper batter Arpit Bhatewara was the highest run-scorer and played an innings of 31 runs from 31 balls. Punjab showcased a complete team effort wherein all the bowlers contributed with wickets and didn’t allow the Meghalaya batters to score much runs. Chasing down the target, Punjab didn’t start off well when they lost the first wicket in the form of Harnoor Singh Pannu. However, Abhishek Sharma didn’t stop his attack and continued to hit fours and sixes from the other hand. In the end, Punjab chased down the target in 9.3 overs.
