The 21 year old Ravichandran Smaran has emerged as Karnataka’s newest batting sensation in a remarkable debut season. He has proved himself exceptionally well across multiple formats and tournaments. He started his journey on 15 August 2024 i.e. Independence Day and since then his performance has been nothing short of extraordinary.

In the Maharaja Premier league, Ravichandran showcased his T20 prowess by hitting 302 runs at an impressive average of 43.14 and a strike rate of 145 one of his highlighting performances was his unbeaten, 104 runs innings from just 60 balls in a crucial 200 runs that powered his team to chase the total and make 206 runs. The Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy saw his aggressive approach again by scoring 170 runs at a remarkable strike rate of 170 including a crucial knock of 57 runs and 49 in high-pressure run chases.
Vijay Hazare Trophy
But it was in the Vijay Hazare trophy where Smaran truly announced himself with an exceptional average of 72.16 and multiple match winning performances. He played a significant role in Karnataka’s title victory in Vijay Hazare. He scored 433 runs at a strike rate of 100.23 which includes two centuries. He was also awarded player of the match in the finals where he scored 101 runs at just 92 balls.
The Ranji Trophy
The Ranji trophy has not been any different. He scored 516 runs at an average of 64.5 at a strike rate of 66. He also scored a made in first class double century versus Punjab in which he scored 203 runs and today he scored 134* versus Haryana in the second innings which shows his ability to adapt and excel in the longer formats as well.
