As a test opener, in the debut match against West Indies, Jaiswal scored 171 runs in 2023. In 2024 he scored two consecutive double centuries against England in two test matches. He scored 712 runs in 9 innings against England. He is also the third youngest cricket in test cricket history after sir Don Bradman and Vinod Kambli to manage this milestone. After Sunil Gavaskar, Jaiswal is the second Indian batter who scored more than 700 runs in a test match.

Yashasvi has also been considered as the next cricketing sensation because he is an opening batsman. Since Rohit Sharma is nearing his retirement, an opening batter of his caliber is a few in India. Jaiswal can be seen replacing Rohit Sharma in every format. He has managed to provide a good start to India’s top order batters. He was also the highest run scorer for India in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Attacking Batting Style

Jaiswal seems to be fearless in front of any bowling, be it seam or spin and one of the examples can be seen during the first test match of BGT 2024 when he smashed a century. His strike rate in Test cricket is near 68 which clearly shows that not only does he make runs quickly but also the bowlers also get some extra time to take wickets of the opposite side. His strike rate against West Indies, Enland and Australia is 54, 80 and 59 respectively.

Ability To Play Big Knocks

The thing that stands out for Jaiswal is his ability to stick to the crease after smashing a century. With this not only does the opposition is frustrated but he saves the middle order and lower order from the threat of the second new ball. Since his debut, Jaiswal has scored 4 test centuries and his score was always 150+ in those innings.
