The Indian men’s hockey team has announced their squad for the upcoming Paris Olympics which features five debutants: Jarmanpreet Singh, Sanjay, Raj Kumar Pal, Abhishek, and Sukhjeet Singh. Harmanpreet Singh will captain the team, with Hardik Singh serving as vice-captain.

The squad also includes former captain Manpreet Singh and veteran goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, while Nilakanta Sharma, Jugraj Singh, and Krishan Pathak have been named as alternate athletes. Coach Craig Fulton expressed satisfaction with the selection, noting the competitive process and his approval of the chosen players.

Fulton highlighted that the squad offers a perfect blend of youth and experience, providing the versatility and energy needed for the competition.

India is placed in Pool B, along with defending champions Belgium, Australia, Argentina, New Zealand, and Ireland. To progress to the quarterfinals, the team must finish in the top four of their pool.
