The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will begin with the Australian cricket team under the leadership of Steve Smith. Pat Cummins along with Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Marsh will miss out due to injury issues while Mitchell Starc decided not to participate and Marcus Stoinis retired from cricket leading to major changes in the Australian team roster. 2009
Starting from February 19 the Champions Trophy splits its teams into two groups where Group B houses Australia together with England and Afghanistan and South Africa. Australia participated in the 2013 England-hosted Champions Trophy through three loses to England along with Sri Lanka and an unscheduled match against New Zealand. The Australian team in the 2017 Champions Trophy located in England did not achieve any wins. The matches between Australia and New Zealand for the Champions Trophy ended ties and Australia received a loss to England.
