New Delhi: The holy month of lord Shiva is known as Shravan Maas or Sawan. This month is totally dedicated to the power of lord Shiva and their devotees. Shravan Maas month is the synonymous with auspicious festival and event.

The month of Sawan will start on July 4 and continue till August 31 and its also the time of monsoon. According to Hindu recognition rain is the sign of lord Shiva’s blessing. Not only this, during this time Kanwar yatra also taking place. It is the ritual of Shiva devotees which carries water from holy rivers and wears saffron Colored cloth to show their affection towards lord Shiva.

As stated by Hindu Calendar and astrological assumptions this year Sawan holds a special and important place because of their special time period. This year Sawan celebration will be last long for 59 days.
Its a rare coincidence which is happening this year. For this reason the excitement level of Shiva devotees is become higher.

History and significance:

As per the traditional story Dakash daughter was give up her life and had reborn as Parvati in the home of Himalayan king. Parvati Wanted to marry lord Shiva. That is why Parvati performed punishment for herself during Sawan or the month of Shravan Maas. Since lord Shiva fulfill the desire of Parvati.

Sawan is all about spirituality and trust on lord Shiva that is celebrates by millions of Hindu across all over the world.
