Rama Ekadashi Worship Method
Wake up in the Brahma Muhurta on the morning of October 7th and take a bath. After bathing, wear clean, yellow, or white clothes, as these colors are dear to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Purify the place of worship and sprinkle Ganga water. Now light a lamp and sit before Lord Vishnu and take a vow to fast. Begin the puja by anointing Lord Vishnu with Panchamrit (milk, curd, ghee, honey, and pure water). Then, offer him yellow sandalwood paste, rice grains, a sacred thread (Mauli), flowers, basil leaves, and dry fruits.
After worshipping Lord Vishnu, also worship Goddess Lakshmi. Offer her a lotus, rose, or yellow flowers. After the puja, listen to or read the Rama Ekadashi fast story. Finally, perform a joint aarti of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. After the aarti, all family members should chant the mantra “Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya” or “Om Laxmiye Namah.”
Those observing the fast can fast throughout the day. The next day, on Dwadashi, perform morning prayers and donate to a Brahmin or someone in need, then break the fast.
