Karwa Chauth 2025 puja
Step 1: Women start their fast before sunrise. They eat sargi, a pre-dawn meal that is usually given by their mother-in-law.
Step 2: In the evening, set up for the puja with a drawing or printed image of Goddess Gaura and Chauth Mata, representing Goddess Parvati.
Step 3: Perform the puja together and listen to or recite the Karwa Chauth Mahatmya Katha, which explains the importance of the fast.
Step 4: Offer the Karwa (a pot filled with water or milk, sometimes with coins or stones) to a Brahmin or a married woman as charity.
Step 5: When the moon rises, do the sieve ritual, pray to Lord Chandra (Moon God), and seek his blessings.
Step 6: Break the fast by drinking water from the husband’s hands, completing the Karwa Chauth rituals.
