On the 27th of August 2025 Ganesha Chaturthi was marked and almost 10 days latter today on the 6th September, devotees are saying goodbye to Lord Ganesha and immersing his idol which marks the end of the ufavorite festival.
The immersion (Visarjan) of the idol in the water bodies is done with utmost reverence, with the faith that Lord Ganesha having accepted the prayers and offerings of his devotees, is now heading to his avowed abode. When he departs, however, he is supposed to shower the world with joy, prosperity, peace and unison.
To add on, it is a fact that, in order to receive the divine blessings of Lord Ganesha, it is a prerequisite to complete the Visarjan rituals in accordance with the auspicious timings (Shubh Muhurat). Conducting this ceremony outside the suggested muhurat is said to diminish the spiritual value of the ceremony.
